BSc in Midwifery

Midwifery B.Sc. program is originated in response to the need of country which is more community oriented, competent, gender sensitive and request of leaders in the health care system for graduate level in educational field. Focusing on the need of generic learners, the goal of the program is to provide a positive and supportive learning environment, preparing the professional midwives in the art and science of midwifery, meeting the social need for safe and competent midwives.

RATIONAL OF MIDWIFERY PROGRAM

-The Social and Economical developmental level of the country

-The analysis of history, development and present status of the midwifery profession in the country.

-The educational sector development plan

-The harmony and standard of the general principle of admission and duration of stay, licensing and accreditation, and requirement of professionals.

-The Health need of the community

Graduation Requirements

-Has taken all the required courses for the program

-Obtained a minimum of CGPA 2.0

-Student should be able to pass comprehensive exam of the school, both in theory and practice before graduation

-The student should pass the compressive exam to sit for external examination administered by external examiners from the Ministry of Health

-Has not scored ‘F’ grade in any courses and should not have a ‘D’ grade in any practicum and professional courses.

-Pass successfully and complete internship/ professional practice program

-Has carried out a student research project on a selected and agree topic of research problem and score a minimum of ‘C’ grade in their thesis report.
